Today a tale of two women: both who were gangraped one dead but would seem to have got justice the other alive but whose quest for justice has taken another turn. The two protagonists, Nirbhaya, better referred perhaps by her real name Jyoti Singh and the other Bilkis Bano. Nirbhaya or Jyoti’s case has in recent times been seen as perhaps the most high profile gangrape case in the country it brought the national capital to a halt. People protested on the streets for days on end even marched down Rajpath dharnas were held. No such mass public protests in Bilkis Bano case. In fact, but for a remarkably brave social activists who took up the case.. we may never even have heard of Bilkis Bano.
