This week, Ram Navmi celebrations have seen communal violence erupt in over half a dozen places. Am I anguished, yes. Am I surprised? No. I have said this in s straight bat blog just a few weeks ago: hate is in the air. We are sitting on a volcano and it requires only the slightest provocation for the lava to spill out. What disappoints me is that even what should be a joyous occasion like Ram Navmi has now become a political battlezone for violent communalism.
